Evan Barat

Evan Barat represents clients in all types of family law matters including divorces, custody modification cases, child support modifications, and adoptions. She also represents children and parents involved in Child Protective Services removal cases. Evan was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Evan attended Texas Tech University for her undergraduate education, where she graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. She obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. Evan has spent her entire legal career serving clients in East Texas. After graduating from law school, Evan worked at the Moran Law Firm, PLLC, where she became partner, until establishing the Barat Firm, PC in 2018.

Evan is a member of the Texas Bar Foundation, the State Bar of Texas, the Smith County Bar Association, the Women’s Section of the Smith County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, The Family Law Section of the Smith County Bar Association.

Evan lives in Tyler with her husband, and their children. She is an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church.

Frank Barat

Frank Barat is a shareholder at The Barat Firm, PC. Frank handles personal injury cases and other civil litigation matters. Frank has spent his entire legal career in East Texas representing indiviudals, businesses, and insurance companies in lawsuits involving automobile accidents, truck accidents, industrial accidents, jobsite and workplace accidents, commercial disputes, wrongful death and survival cases, and other complex legal matters. He also represents minor children in personal injury cases and in Child Protective Services removal cases pro bono.

Frank graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree and earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. While in law school Frank was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Texas and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Texas. Frank was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers in 2022 and 2023.

Away from the office, Frank has served on the boards of Keep Tyler Beautiful and the Smith County Young Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Texas Bar Foundation, the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar College, and the Smith County Bar Association. In 2023 Frank was recognized as the “Outstanding Young Lawyer” by the Smith County Bar Association. Frank is an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. He lives in Tyler with his wife and children.
